Last week, we caught up with our operator Matt onsite to get some firsthand feedback on our electric plant, which he had been using. Both the excavator and the loader were in use on an urban roading project in Christchurch.
The excavator was used for general work, prepping an intersection. Matt commented that it performed well and was just as powerful as a traditional diesel excavator. He appreciated the reduction in noise and vibration, especially in the residential area they were working in. His feedback on the loader was even more positive; it held its charge well, and the reduced noise and vibration were significant benefits. The loader maintained its charge all week, even with regular use throughout the day.
We're planning to send this equipment down to Dunedin next to gather more operator feedback and will produce a report early next year on our initial findings to share with the wider industry.
